O secunda de viata in plus

Earth takes a total of 86.400 seconds to perform a 360 degree movement. But that movement around its axis is not smooth but zigzag, and this process is affected by gravity to the sun and moon and ocean waves, Earth is late to the finish line.
Last minute of the day June 30, 2012 will take 61 seconds. That's because scientists will add the extra minutes for a second that Earth has literally lost in the rotation.
To avoid eleven days time the International Atomic Solar, universal indicator used - Coordinated Universal Time - is adjusted from time to time. When scientists make us a second extra gift of life. In other words, every few years, we have a day that lasts 86,401 seconds.
This time adjustment was first implemented in 1972. Until then, time was measured according to the position of the Sun and stars in relation to Earth.
On June 30, 2012 will mark the 25th such intervention in the history of Earth.
The last three adjustments to Coordinated Universal Time took place in 2008, 2005 and 1998. In 1972, scientists have "walked" twice the time.
Extra second is added only at midnight or on December 31 or on June 30.
I didn`t know this.....Mai bine radem putin
